I haven't posted in a LONG time. I've been spending a lot of time over on Tumblr, and I've sort of been enjoying this season quietly.

Here today because I had some meta-y thoughts on Road Trip, particularly the last Sam and Dean scene.

I so totally agree with all of this, especially this part: But what Dean has to do is realize that he IS worth something outside of Sam. He can't allow his own existence to be totally dependent upon Sam, because that makes Sam not his own person, but just an extension of Dean. And that's the real problem.

This is so painfully accurate. I really hope Dean gets it, and soon. I'd really like to that kind of development for him.

Agreed! If there's one good thing that comes out of this current rift between Sam and Dean, it'll be both of them being able to work out some of their issues and actually make some progress as characters.
