So I'm pretty sure I'm mostly over my foodstamp shame. I went to Trader Joe's yesterday and loaded up the cart and ended up paying only $4 out of pocket on some wine that was on sale. I've got some Trader Joe's food cooking in the kitchen as I type. Yup, life is sweet

it never occurred to me that of course you could use food stamps at trader joes! that's FUCKING AWESOME. see it's only bad when we associate food stamps with chicken hindquarters and kool cigarettes. i've never had carmelized brussel sprouts but oh man does that sound good...

Oh man! I wish we had Trader Joe's here. I should break down and get food stamps too. The shame factor is ridiculous.

I kinda destroyed my brussel sprouts the other day as I walked off to check my email. They were brussel sprouts with pearl onions in a light cream sauce. They got a little mushy but still entirely tasty.
