Didn't know about the water bottle in the freezer bit, but heard about the other stuff in a magazine called Scientific American! You should look into that Mag, it's great for that kind of stuff... meaning being a couple years ahead of things that come out in more mainstream scources! Other examples include exposing the negative consequences of depression meds, such as Prozac and others, and advances in robotics research... yes, both of which I see as bad things, in general, but that's beside the point! :)

Another example... microwave popcorn! The glue in the packageing (produced by 3M ?), toxins leech into the popcorn while in the micro... haven't seen that one hit the mainstream yet, though...
