I don't know why I stopped posting to LJ. Looking back I just kind of....stopped. Cold Turkey. Done. It's funny because this was my LIFE. Looking for new posts was part of my daily routine. Thinking back to 2014, there really wasn't anything super huge going on that would have made me quit. No major changes took place or earth-shaking events. I ( Read more... )

Well, let me ask. Did you jump onto Twitter or Instagram or one of the other 'mayfly media' sites? Did you get a smartphone and it was easier to read other sites than LJ?

It's easy to get caught up in 'reactive emotion' than 'active rational'. It's easier to know you only have to read 140 characters than something like my bloviating. :)

I think this is happening to many people now. It's EASIER to swipe, like, swipe, swipe, like, type a few words, swipe... not much thought, all reaction. But it's empty. And the sheer amount of hate now is depressing.

I'm hoping that more and more of the people I know, who actually have a brain, come to realize the lotus blossom that is Twitter and Facebook.

Makes me sad, really. Hope you choose to post once in a while.

I have a twitter but I don't use it. I have FB but honestly I was using it just as much then as ever.

I think the biggest problem I had is that so many of my friends moved to other places that there just wasn't as much to keep me interested.

*hugs* I'm sorry hon. I think with so much emphasis put on social media, people have forgotten how to be social. it's like it doesn't matter about being a good friend, just that you hit 'like' once in a while to make everything ok.

I feel the same way. FB isn't cutting it cause of my terrible family always finding me. this place still feels like home <3
