So I'm up to "Enlightenment" in my Peter Davison era rewatch.

Have I mentioned how much I adore "Enlightenment"? Because I adore it a lot. And you all need to watch it.

To me, Enlightenment is one of the best stories of the classic run.

Very much agreed. It's one of my absolute favorite Doctor Who serials of all time, if not actual favorite.

You muuuuust! Sailing ships in space! Pirates! Morality debates and serious concepts! Fancy dress parties and Tegan in a smashing Edwardian ball gown! A fabulous lady villain! Not to mention a creepy, well-executed extra-dimensional race that doesn't play to the usual Higher Being tropes.

Seriously, it is great. One of my favorite Doctor Who serials period.
