No more EGL Live Journal for me. I'm done with the rat race there. The tendency for unnecessary drama and thin-skins has outstripped its usefulness for Gothloli community updates, so, much like I once did with the Black Lolita Yahoo!Group, I'm out of the EGL LJ community. The problem perhaps may be that, generally, the American Gothic Lolita is really just a goth with some lace. The goth scene, in my experience, is a situation where the snootiest ones win. Being more goth, more cool, better than you is the most important thing. At my age (I talk like an old maid!), I've moved beyond such pettiness. I have greater concerns than being the girl with the cutest skirt and I've learned that being nice generally does actually get you further. Teen angst holds no appeal to me. That's mostly why I left. I got tired of seeing people tear each other down for the stupidest little things.

But, on a slightly off-topic note, I hope I finally get to meet you at Otakon! I can't wait!

Mostly what I have a problem with is that there's really not much tearing down going on. Just a lot of paranoia that it is. :/ People need to chill out and realize that not everyone's always going to agree, and that once in a while some one *is* wrong. People who think things should be peaches n' creme all the time are as annoying as the people always trying to rain on the parade in my oppinion. Places like EGL just take all the everyday crap and make it larger than life, like it's so crucial if some one loves this outfit and hates that one. *Rolls eyes.* If things are going to be that out of hand, I'd prefer to just retreat back into the *gasp* real world. ... or, rather, my own slightly distorted portion of it.

*Nods* I made one last post I hope enough people read, because I think it's something a lot of people need to learn. People's oppinions don't matter, and you can't expect a higher power to always be there to protect you from the thoughts of others. If you're going to do your own thing, you have to take the responsibility of dealing with the results.

Most of us haven't even met eachother face to face, and usually insults and mean behavior are coming from people we don't even know much about over the net, so why put so much stock in their oppinions that you have to call a mod or make up a new rule to sheild people who take empty words to heart?

Haven't any of those Lolis watched Shimotsuma Monogatari?! 御意見無用 damnit!

awww, too bad. Although I throughly understand. It'll be sad missing one more voice of reason. I've been looking for a tight-knit group too, but they tend to die out from lack of activity. At least you get a lot of exposure on egl, good or bad. I tell myself that to garner some future customers. ;)

I left BL first, and then EGL. I'm sticking around ca_lolita for meetup purposes and such, joined a couple EGA groups. Too bad noirelegante isn't as busy as it once was (though I see Gothic Prince Ken got himself an LJ). I think I'm just going to make my own way, lolita-wise. Plus, I plan to totally fuck around with the look, which I'm sure will piss people off. That's the last thing I need... more baby goths looking down on me coz I don't wear black constantly.

But three cheers for you! Just think, you won't have to read the same "which Japanese brands ship to the US?" post three times a day! Huzzah just for that, I say!

XD I don't know anything about BL any more, like I said, been gone over a year by now. TOO MUCH FREAKING DRAMA. I don't know why I put up with it as long as I did. ~Shakes head~ It's like I could *feel* my I.Q. points going down, like watching reality TV :3
