In honour of the latest little LJ controversy - the deletion of communities and users for including in their interest lists activities that are 'illegal'...

And in recognition of the fact that my own interests list does in fact include an activity which is, by its very definition, illegal...

Ha. This is amazing. Great icon.

I can't believe LJ is doing this. I mean, to an extent I understand communities devoted to the encouragement of certain illegal activities, such as pedophilia, however there is a line. I hear they are evening banning support group communities for those who were victims of rape, abuse, etc... because of their relation to the criminal activity. Awful.

Looks at the news update post on the main page of LJ. There's a mea culpa there (and one of the better ones I've ever seen) from the CEO of the company that runs LJ that descripbes the situation pretty well.

Ya, it is a good mea culpa. It is so rare that you see blunt statements like 'we really screwed this one up' and 'we messed up so badly'.
