you could comment based on the content, anyway; that doesn't require that you know anybody. it is mostly plain direct quotes (i make my editorial notes distinct) so that might help. but of course you don't have to!
i *would* still suggest trying a minute or two of jogging anyway. it's different for the body, which is a good thing, esp. over longer distances. and i wouldn't worry so much about getting your walking speed up either -- you aren't training for a race, but for your community's good and your own body's. but this is just my tuppence, as your fellow mover-in-the-world :)
I recently discovered there is a Planet Fitness right on the other side of Quincy Center, and was considering rejoining. If I do, it will let me take a guest in every visit at my home location. Getting to Quincy Center is not easy (you are either going up to JFK/UMass or walking 10 minutes to catch the 215), but when I rejoin in late september, if you want to come over here, I will be glad of the company (and I will help you with those stupid visual only interfaces and in the circuit training path).
I imagine I'll be going to our normal gym most of the time, but it would be fun to work out with you once in a while. Let me know when you've rejoined. And yes, it's always nice to get help with all that visual stuff. The reason thorbol and I joined the pricey BSC is because a) their locations tend to be extremely close to the T, and b) they actually have people around to help us.
thorbol and I will be there in a couple of hours, by the way, if you're interested in meeting us there. Then you could meet my wonderful sweetiemeister! (And he'd like to meet you, too: I think he wants to ask you about aikido.)

that said, if you threw in a minute or two of jog along the way, i strongly suspect you'd be running 5k by october...

And I'm sorry I haven't commented on a lot of your recent entries. Not knowing the people involved, I didn't think it was my place.
