Coffee grinder woes

Once upon a time there was a sweet little coffee grinder. It wasn't *that* little, actually: it could grind pretty many beans at a time. Its owners, thorbol and moria923, loved it very much, because it could easily grind enough for their 12-cup coffeemaker. You see, thorbol and moria923 are coffee addicts. They each drink about 32 ounces per day, and they like it strong.

I'm sure it was sixteen cups, for those who like dishwater, which is what I'm told Italians call typical American coffee.

Couldn't you grind the old quantity of beans in two batches?
