The Dilution of Revlon #5: A Confession

Deceit in a tan glass bottle--
Deception on a white foam wedge:

A face applied with
       clumsy fingertips
Dabs of artifice smeared together into
       uniformity.

Nightly she strips the mask:
       A ritual of honesty.
Dove soap loosens liquid foundation.
       Her fallen facade
streams down the porcelain sink

Actually, it was funny. I was just in a bad mood. Funny you said that about writing a new line...that was basically the first line of a different poem I sort of wrote as a draft for this one. But I will caution you not to read the poem's speaker as the same as the writer. Barilla wouldn't like that analysis style...
