I'm really divided on this, because I can think of plenty of people who'd lie about something like that if it meant getting $10 000 US, so that makes me pretty reluctant to participate. At the same time, if she really does need those surgeries, I'm gonna feel pretty assholish if I don't participate. :/

I thought about how it could be a hoax, but after watching the community for a while, it seems like it would be really, really difficult to weave a story like this. It still could be, and Erin could be a really good actor, and I won't dismiss this thought. But my inner idealist holds on.
