(X) Met a celebrity/celebrities - Oh, my -- long list after going to scifi cons for over 40 years. I've had lunch with Mark Lenard (Sarek from Star Trek), brunch with George Takei (in San Francisco after one of his book signings), stood in a check out line at Bed Bath & Beyond with Robert Conrad (while he entertained us with anecdotes), ran into Paul Winfield at LAX (also Mitch Ryan, Rick Rossovich, Carol Burnett and Tim Allen on separate occasions), and met William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy (long story on this one), DeForest Kelley, James Dooham, Nichelle Nichols, Gene Roddenberry, Terry Nation, Majel Barrett Roddenberry, Walter Koenig, Susan Oliver, Patrick Stewart, Jonathan Frakes, Brent Spiner, Marina Sirtis, Wil Wheaton, Denise Crosby, LeVar Burton, Michael Dorn, Colm Meaney, Alexander Courage, Telly Savalas, Gates McFadden, Bob Hope, Grace Lee Whitney, Barbara Hershey and Steve Railsback (they filmed in a movie in my town, and I wrangled an on set invitation), Victor Lundin, Paul Mantee, Kate Mulgrew, Robert Beltran, Roxann Dawson, John de Lancie, Robert Duncan McNeill, Ethan Phillips, Ed Ames, Victor Borge, Robert Picardo, Tim Russ, Garrett Wang, Avery Brooks, Rene Auberjonois, Cirroc Lofton, Alexander Siddig, Nana Visitor, Armin Shimerman, Terry Farrell, Michael Biehn, had lunch with Wes Craven (that was interesting), had lunch with Robin Curtis)...and those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.
Oh, wait, remembered: Tom Selleck, in '80. I was on vacation in Hawaii, and visiting a girlfriend who lived on Oahu and worked for Wells Fargo alarm. She worked swing shift, and we would go out after she got off of work. One night, she called early (around 9pm) and said that she'd pick me up in front in 10 minutes. She explained while driving where we were going that one of their alarm customers had locked himself out of his home (again -- had a bad habit of losing keys), and we were bringing over a backup key that the alarm company had. Turns out it was Tom Selleck's home! (This was before he met Jillie Mack, and he had some blonde date with him.) Tom was also apologetic and embarrassed about losing his key again, and very nice .
The best memory is having dinner with the original Star Trek cast in '85 in Oakland. Much fun.
