I love the sound of trains: the toots, the brakes squealing, the sound of the metal wheels going over the metal tracks - chk, chk, chk... yes, it's all Good.

Conventional trains have loud engines, metal wheels, and are obnoxious to those who live near the rail tracks. Maglevs, or Magnetic Levitation Trains, don't operate like them and produce very little noise. They can travel at high speed and hold promise for the waning railroad industry. Travel over long distances is much more convenient on Maglevs than on the old diesel monsters. Plans for a line from Baltimore to Washington are in the works. This kind of development would hurt the airline industry in terms of local travel. Hey let it figure out how to get profitable again.
