Since some of you haven't seen this..

I just wanted to toss up a link to my profile on Suite, where I have been publishing articles.  It's paid writing (through ad revenue, so don't click on ad links because they might suspect click fraud) and a way to get credits and my name out there.

Nothing mind blowing, but it's a good way to practice and get feedback and improve my work.  And ( Read more... )

I'm trying lol! I've been working at it since late November. It's something I've always wanted to do and
I finally just started working the google-fu and seeing what I came up with. There are a number of sites that pay (including some that invite you to write under a pen name if you want to), but I'm just sticking with one for now. Some of the people on the forums talk about how they write 10+ articles per day and I'm like, WTF? I'd rather be more slow and methodical and have it turn out right then just be whipping out a bunch of crap.

You can apply to suite... couldn't hurt and you aren't obligated for anything.

It's... less than pennies a word lol. It's based on Adsense revenue, so basically if people click on my ads I get a share of the revenue (and I am obligated to let you know DON'T click on the ads to help me out, it's tracked and it's click-fraud if you aren't a genuine click). So it really depends. Some people get a lot of clicks because their stuff is really commercial, but mine isn't. I'm not in it for the money so much as the experience (same thing with the volunteer copy editing, at this stage of the game, the experience is just more valuable). But my husband had a technical writer working at his place today that was being paid $65 per hour. That's the payoff I'm looking for. This is just a means to an end.
