Many of us were in the middle of something quite important. That seems to matter very little to this 'lord'.

Though your weapons are blunted, they need not be useless. I cannot begin to understand why he would leave us them, unless perhaps he did not wish us to be entirely defenseless.

As to your other questions, I'm afraid I so far have very little answers as to why we are here or how we can escape. I can warn you that this place itself has its own dangers. There are deadly creatures in the forest, and strange things seem to happen here. Most recently, an outbreak of an illness that caused victims to turn into what was called a 'zombie'.

Hmm. If it can get that dangerous here then you are right, I'd rather have blunt weapons instead of no weapons at all.

[There's a short pause.]

Wait, zombies? Seriously?

I have so far found even blunt weapons to be of use on a number of occasions.

[There's a pause on his end as well, as he checks to be sure he's gotten the word correctly.]

Yes. That is what I was told they were called, at least, though I had not heard of them before I came here. Quite a number of people were affected, either by the illness, or at the mercy of those who were. But it seems to have resolved itself.

I...didn't even realize zombies were possible. From where I am from, they are just fictional monsters.

I'll consider it lucky that I arrived afterwards then.

[And now he's rather curious.]

Are they? How strange, that the fictional monsters of one world would be real here. Were the zombies of your world shells the people they had once been, mindlessly attacking anything that moves?

[And then he smiles slightly.]

Yes, as far as any can consider themselves lucky to have arrived here, it is fortunate that it was after such an occurrence.

Well, in our stories, they only attacked humans. And their brains needed to be destroyed before they were truly dead.

How were the zombies dealt with here?

[Tus considers that for a moment.]

It seems they were somewhat different here, then. There are many here who are not human, and they were all in danger of being attacked, and even turning into zombies themselves.

They were able to be killed like any other man.

Interesting. They're so similar, yet so different from the ones I am familiar with.

Wait, "not human"?

That seems to happen quite a bit here.

Ah, yes, there are a number here who are not human, or not entirely human. I myself have met a gryphon and a faun, and have spoken to one who can change their form and take on that of an animal.

[As interesting as this all is, one thing catches Te Ata attention.]

There are people who can shapeshift here?

As surprised as I was to discover that, there are indeed. The one I've spoken with can take the form of a tiger, and I have heard of others who can change their form. I don't believe I've met any of them personally, however.

[Maybe one of those shifters was from her world. The only problem is tracking them down without revealing her ability to everyone.]

I see. Thank you for the information. My name is Te Ata, and should you ever need any help, I will gladly assist you.
