[Hello there little miss owl, somebody out there was watching you. Zachariah stood outside the stables having just woken up from one of his short naps. Like all the others it had been filled with nightmares, but once he saw the owl he quickly pushed them aside.
It had been sometime since he'd actually seen an owl so he watched with keen interest. Not wanting to scare it, he remained still, quiet, and simply observed. He had gotten quite good at that over the years.]
[It doesn't take too long for Te Ata to notice her audience. Curious, she glides down to circle Zachariah a few times before finally landing on his shoulder. Sorry if her talons dig in a little, but she tries not to grip too hard.

[Zachariah's eyes widened to the size of saucer plates. He had certainly not been expecting that. Eventually he smiled widely. As surprising as it was, it was also amazing. He quickly reached into his pocket and offered the owl a piece of beef jerky.]

[Tetsu's not the most sociable goat/sheep/tiger thing in the world so he's been keeping to himself for the most part. Humans can be entertaining, but sometimes he just needs to get away from them all. He won't admit it, but he's starting to miss the shop. At least there he had been able to find some occasional good non-human companionship. It's just his luck that all the animals in the keep are either dumb as rocks or assholes. Whenever he tries to talk to them they either ignore him or just growl.
Nevertheless, today is a human avoiding day and Tetsu can be found spread out on the green, alone, watching the sky.]

[Te Ata is enjoying herself despite the whole being stuck thing. So she's been flying in wide circles above the Keep, scouting out the area at large before coming in low above the green.
She notices the weird long-haired ram and dips lower before circling about above it, head swiveling as she flies so she can get a good look before Te Ata decides whether to land or not.]
[Commentlog] ^__^ Up to you if Te-owl understands him or notculinarybeastOctober 13 2011, 21:23:04 UTC
[Tetsu, for one, does not appreciate the head circling.
Annoyed, he rolls onto his paws and looks up, craning his head back to watch her through the fringe of his hair. When he speaks his words come out in a sequence of baas and growls.]
Hey, owl chick! Knock it off. Ya got any idea how distractin' that is?

[Te Ata wobbles in the air for a moment, shocked at the sudden outburst. After a moment she lands on the grass close to Tetsu. She hoots and chirps back at him.]
Sorry. I've never seen an animal that looks like you before.
[Isabella was outside, sitting upon the green with her back toward one of the topiary trees. She was doing a little embroidery upon a black shirt. Perhaps it was a shadow, or catching movement out of the corner of her eye but it most certainly was not the sound that made her look up at the owl.
The half angel has never seen an owl out at this time of day. How curious!]
[Isabella follows the movements of the owl and clearly is surprised that the owl decided to land upon the tree near her.
She finds herself tilting her own head a bit in response to the bird's curious behavior. After a minute of this enjoyable silence, a smile works it's way onto Isa's face.]
Hello, pretty.
[Her voice is soft and low, so not to startle the bird. Talking to animals is a pleasant enough past time. Sometimes, as she's found, they might even talk back!]
[Te Ata puffs up slightly in pride before preening her feathers. Isabella can probably tell that she appreciates the compliment.
She edges closer on the branch she's perched before suddenly taking off and fluttering down to land on the grass close to Isabella. Te Ata chirps and watches her intently.]
[Alex was tired .. he'd spent the previous night out in the forest during the full moon and he was rather of the mind that a good soak would cure pretty much anything that was ailing him.
He was nearly to the thermal pools, a robe wrapped around his trim form and a towel draped over his arm, when the sound of wing beats catches his attention. He pauses and glances up, blue-green eyes scanning the skies until he sights upon the owl.
His brows rise slightly, having seen several bird of various species since his arrival here, but never an owl. He smiles ever so slightly before continuing toward the pools, finding a certain degree of comfort in the birds' presence.]
[Alex doesn't seem bothered in the slightest at having an owl following him, but this doesn't mean that he doesn't find it curious.
Because he does. They are a curious and intelligent bird by default, but generally they keep a wider berth than this one seems inclined to.
He pauses again as she moves in closer, glancing over his shoulder at her to watch her approach.]
Hello, pretty .. Looking around, are you?
[He doesn't seem to think twice about talking to an owl, smiling at the pretty bird before continuing down the last of the path that guides to the pools. He sighs contently as his gaze falls on the steaming pools, setting his towel (and journal) safely aside before sitting at the edge of one pool and dangling his legs into the water.
He then proceeds to begin braiding his hair back from his face, slim fingers separating and weaving the sections of hair by feel rather than sight.]
[Te Ata hoots and lands on the other side of the thermal pool, ruffling her feathers and settling down to enjoy the heat emanating from the water. She watches Alex braid his hair.]

Well, hello, winged friend. Nice time for flight, is it not?
[She grins. She does not expect a reply.]
