At a glance, it seemed as though the girl had simply crawled under Ginger's desk, perhaps to get away from the noise and bustle of the White House Communications bullpen, and had fallen asleep there

When Ginger returned to her desk, the sleeping Dragon was the first thing she noticed, of course. At first, she just smiled and went on with her work. Then she wondered about something. She'd just been here almost ten seconds ago, and Dragon had been quite awake. She'd had a bit of a headache, but not tired ...
Ginger suddenly realised, remembering Dragon coming to her, complaining of a headache. She'd merely given her a few mild painkillers and told her to have a rest. No ... Dragon couldn't be ...
Just to be sure, the worried assistant bent down, and whispered.
"Dragon?"
When there was no response, she took the little girls arm and shook it, speaking louder now.
This had somewhat less than the intended effect. Actually, it had no effect whatsoever, other than to cause the sleeping girl's head to roll gently to one side. (the mun should really stop enjoying this so much, now.)
At this, Ginger proceeded to panick. She jumped up and looked around her desk, frantically throwing things aside, searching and searching, ignoring the strange looks she was getting.
Finally, she spun around.
"WILL SOMEONE GET SOME HELP?!" She yelled abruptly.
Will worked at the White House. He was used to crazy people throwing things and yelling in the halls. Of course, most of these people tended to be Toby, so when his normally mild aide started screaming around the bullpen, he tended to pay a little more attention than such an event would have normally warrented.
"Ginger?" He ventured concernedly, peering out of his office. "Are you-?" He bit the question off short, because it seemed a profoundly stupid thing to ask a woman who seemed to be in the process of violently removing all of the contents of her desk whether she was okay.
One doesn't have to be a doctor to hear the anxiousness in Ginger's voice. "It's ok," Leo say, trying to sound supportive but unsure of how to deal with a scared communications assistant. Rather then trying to deal with Ginger, for fear she might break down or start crying, he turns to Will. "Have you called for a doctor yet?" He asks.
Will shook his head. "No, sir. Not yet." Setting her down gently on his couch, where she lay silent and still, for all the world a peaceful dreamer - before turning back to Leo. "We found her on the floor, just before," He winced inwardly at that inadvertant rhyme, then chided himself for being able to consider such trivial peeves at this moment. "Ginger thinks she fainted, or maybe she hit her head. Nobody saw," He added, sounding truly ashamed, now. Not one of them had thought to keep an eye on the little girl while Ginger was indisposed. It had happened right in front of their eyes, and they - so self-absorbed - had been blind to it.
Leo shifts uncomfortably as he notices the time on his watch, he's late for a meeting. "Alright, well you definitely should call a doctor." Leo said, stating the obvious. He considered for a moment, what the consequences would be of his being late for the meeting. Margaret would be pissed off with him for sure, but she's a sucker for kids and would probably forgive him for messing up her carefully planned schedule of all his meetings and appointments for the day if it was because he was helping a child. On the other hand, he'd probably offend whatever foreign diplomat he was meeting with, which could damage foreign relationships, which could hurt trade, which could lead to a bad economy, and so on and that was never really good to do. "Look, I have this thing I have to go to now but I want you to keep me updated on her condition, ok?" He told Will, and as he started to head for the door he couldn't help but feel guilty.
"Of course," Will agreed without hesitation, hand already reaching for his cell phone. "I'll let you know," He assured the other man, already starting to dial.
Josh is walking through the halls, on his way back to his office from the Hill. Per usual, he passes through the communications department, and on his way, pokes his head into Sam Will's office. "Hey, Will, do you have those remarks on the Asia-Pacific..."
He trails off as he notices the situation. "What's going on?" He asks, confused, and voice a little higher than usual.
Ginger looked up slowly at Josh as he entered the room. A little hesitantly, and in almost a whisper she answers,
"Dragon fainted."
She wondered why she was suddenly treating this child as if she were the mother. It wasn't as if she'd known her for all that long, really. She had committed herself to help her, but ... it wasn't as if she was the mother.
Ginger shakes her head, opening her mouth and saying "I don't know", only the words don't come out as planned. They just don't, and she is left to stare at Dragon's motionless body, hoping it's nothing serious. Wishing she'd done something a little more. What if the girl had some kind of disease she didn't know about?
