Teddy had been spending more and more time in the Room, now that he was living with his father and Severus (the man whom he'd begun to think of almost as a second father, or at the very least, a close uncle), but still made visits back to his other home to see people like his Gran, Harry, Vic, James, Albus, Lily, and the rest of them

"Teddy, is that you?" Every time Teddy returned from his world Remus felt a small thrill. His son wanted to be here, with them. Often he brought something back, so that his bedroom was becoming a true reflection of his personality.

"You've been gone a bit longer then..." Remus, reaching the front entry, froze. Oh Merlin. "Teddy."

Quickly he rushed forward, relieved to find a pulse but horrified to to see, and smell, so much blood. It almost overwhelmed him, but for his son's sake he was able to hold it together. And shout. "Sev! Every bloody healing potion you have. Now!"

At hearing Remus mention Teddy, Snape was just putting down his book to say hello, when he heard Remus' panicked request.

"What the hell..."

Going to their bathroom cupboard, he pulled out healing potions, blood replenishers and pain killers, before hurrying to Remus' side.

"Merlin," he whispered, looking over Teddy. He shoved some potions at Remus. Get the pink one down his throat, then start pouring the blue over his wounds.

Snape grabbed his wand, waving it over some of the larger wounds while singing a song of healing.

Teddy finally stirred a bit, blinking slowly and groaning.

"'M...all right." He tried to move a bit, but it hurt, so he stayed still. "Dad? ...Severus?"

"We're right here, Teddy. We're both right here." Teddy's hair, at least, seemed blood free and Remus touched it gently. Inside, though, he was shaking.

"Can you tell us what happened? Sev might have specific potions if you know details."

But he knew what happened, didn't he? As much as he wanted to think 'wild animal' those claw marks looked far to familiar.

"It's going to be alright, Teddy." He looked frantically at Sev, but quickly looked away. And hoped he wasn't lying.

Severus moved Remus to the couch before his legs gave out on him. Once the were both seated, he pulled Remus again his chest, stroking his hair.

"It's alright, love. We have him home and we'll take care of him." His voice hardened. "And then we're going after Grayback."

Snape hadn't believed Teddy's answer, that Grayback didn't know who he was. Sev had no doubt about that.

Good. You're supposed to get on a more normal sleep schedule.

"He'll be alright." Remus' voice was muffled as he spoke against Snape's shirt. Teddy had to be alright, there was no alternative.

Maybe if Remus was thinking rationally he wouldn't have believed Teddy either. But he wanted it to be true. As bad as it was for Teddy to be attacked for being an Auror, it was a million times worse for it to be because of him. "His face, Sev."

"I know," Severus replied, a hand stroking up and down Remus' back. "We'll minimize the scarring as best we can, but we can't avoid it altogether."

He wanted to go after Grayback. He wanted go through Teddy's door and find the creature and kill him.

"Where's Bella?"

Oh noes! I sorry, sweetie.

"I don't know." Of course at this point Remus didn't really know where his own feet were.

Remus wasn't sure how long he stared at the broken heap that had been Fenrir Greyback before Snape tugged on his arm, getting his attention.

Severus was looking him over, ensuring that none of the cuts and scratches were deep enough to kill him. Jaw clenched, he banished the blood on Remus, not wanting Greyback's blood to touch him a moment longer.

"It's done, Remus. Teddy is safe, and so is every other wtich and wizard in his world."

"It's over." More then thirty years ago it had begun, though his memory from them is more about the pain and his mothers tears. He didn't know what Greyback really looked like until he was a teen.

"He's everything I never wanted to be. And he came so close to..." Oh Merlin, if he'd turned Teddy it would be one of his greatest fears realized.

"Teddy is never going to be like that," Severus assured him, brushing his hair back from his face and kissing him softly. "You've made certain of that."

Snape stared at Greyback's corpse before pointing his wand and saying, "Incindio!" He felt a sick sense of satisfaction, seeing his body going up in flames.

"Never again."
