Did you experience any discrimination as a Westerner seemingly trying to influence them with your "evil" ways???

Also ... by religious development, do you mean tolerance? As far as I know religious fundamentals have been pretty static throughout their existence.

I did not experience anything along those lines. There was one thing that I saw on TV that irked me. But, I am not sure if it was their version of Rush Limbaugh or not. The long and the short of it was this talking head guy was very pissed off that we elected Obama because he had made it part of his platform to stop shipping American jobs to India.

As far as the growth comment goes I was speaking more in terms of social development. Religion typically holds back social and scientific progress. Tolerance is one part of that. But also womens rights, progressive reforms to laws and their punishments, exc.

I have said it before, and I will say it again, if your "culture" or your "religion" says that women do not have the same rights as men, then FUCK YOUR IGNORANT CULTURE and TO HELL WITH YOUR GOD!

Oh, lord, you aren't kidding. My last serious relationship before Justis was an Indian guy. He exemplified that attitude through and through. I finally got him to quit bringing up the death and destruction of Pakistan around me, but I sure as hell have no illusions that I changed his mind!

I have to say that right now, I sympathize with him, but I am SO glad that I don't have to be around the inevitable rage.

I brought that up and his response was that they would have leveled Pakistan before their missiles were prepped therefor they would have "won".
