you said they helped 'to figure out who you are by creating a place for you in the...' but the majority of this essay was telling the reader they have no idea who they are and they can only guess who they will be. contradiction?
i clearly stated that we only know who we are in the context of the situation we are in right now. and that what else do we know but who we are right now. people can only guess what they will be, and probably won't even know, because of the fact that they define themselves by what they are instead of who. so right now other people have given you enough to figure out who you are even if you had no idea. next year no one iwll have any clue.
