Near Honthjolf on the platform that he stands, in the Low Quality Chest, there's a Preserved Ancient Key, I was wondering has anyone found what chest/door/etc that this key is supposed to open? I tried all the locked chest in Aharnabi & the key doesn't open any of them ( Read more... )

I never found a use for it. It might just be a really cool souvenier.

In quite a few ruins, both Deadric and Dwemer, I've come across such keys that don't seem to have a purpose. I have no clue why they are there. Perhaps they are just something the devs overlooked.

Really? That's kinda odd, coz all the keys that I have found in Daedric & Dwemer places, I've found what chest or door it goes to. It helps with the Begger Spell to sense where the enchanted items are, coz sometimes the locked chest is somewhere on a ledge you have to levitate up or something out of sight.

The only keys that I haven't found a use for in Morrowind was this key mentioned found in the Aharnabi cavern & the the "Simple Key" that's found in the top room of the house of that dead dude (forgot name) in Balmora that you have to lock pick into the house.

ok, I've looked up in CS, and the only thing I've found, that it has ID "key_fetid_dreugh_grotto". but I have no idea, where this grotto is. any suggestions?

I'm assuming you're referring to the "Simple Key" found in Balmora? Yea it's the key found in the trashed room upstairs of the house belonging to the dead dude in the Hlaalu family, his name starts with an "R" I think... The Commmona Tong axed him. LOL Eno Hlaalu is the guy that gives you quests for the Morag Tong LOL... He's very alive until you kill him haha.
I have no idea... I wanna say it's Koal Cave just because that shrine gives you an enchanted dreugh cuirass (sp?) but it's not a grotto...so blah I dunno.

Ok, I'm a fool. Βy the way, he is not Hlaalu at all, he is Hlaalo. Ralen Hlaalo :)

I vaguely remeber, there was a quest with the small dreugh grotto, where you must kill dreughs and make a donation of dreugh wax. Or something. But I just don't remember, who gives you that quest and where is that grotto (CS knows almost nothing for the word "grotto", so it's name isn't Grotto ..., and dialogues wont' help too), and does it exist at all?

Ohh Hlaalo lol...those names get confusing.

Ummm I don't remember anything I've come across so far like that, but something similar is part of the Temple Quest is to visit the 7 shrines of graces or whatever: At Koal Cave, you're to donate dreugh wax at the shrine for your blessing, which is basically some pts increase for 24 hrs for all your armor skills + an enchanted Dreugh Cuirass (completely ridiculous b/c after I activated the shrine, I couldn't move b/c of the added cuirass!) or you could've killed the Dreugh warlord in the grotto to get dreugh wax in case if you didn't have any in your inventory.
