I dunno. It's about a group of people who have been granted magical powers by a selection of talking animals to save the world from an evil force that wishes to destroy it.
Sure, half the characters are male. Sure, the Princess and the Lizard Knight have a distinctly...nonstandard endgame plan.
But as an outsider, I look at it and don't see how it differences in essence. Could you explain that to me? (Since, y'know, again, I am an outsider.)
The main issue would be that it's a seinen work, where Battle Fantasia is primarily (but not entirely) shoujo. That isn't to say that we absolutely won't allow it, as we've allowed a few shounen/seinen themes that fit, but they're the exception rather than the rule. So we basically have to discuss it. (I also don't want to be in a position where people will go "well you allowed action theme x, you HAVE to allow y" and suddenly we've got Bleach and Naruto on the magical girl game.) I will grant that it is closer in spirit than, well, Bleach or Naruto.
Speaking from the biased perspective of the dude who wants to app from it: generally, the slippery slope is relatively easy to avoid by just going 'no, we don't, this particular one works because it is in the spirit of what we are going for' adding in the 'blah blah blah story about maturity, gaining thereof, the power of love and friendship and the bonds between people rather than story of fightiness, and also magical talking animal mascots'
But, again, I am explicitly approaching this from the perspective of 'I really enjoyed this comic and want to app the Dog Knight.'
