Well said. It worries and saddens me that our nation can not set aside our political differences for even a moment as we deal with this natural disaster. If heads need to roll after an investigation so be it but we just get along until this mess is cleaned up!

You know, what's worse is what's coming from other countries and their glee at our misfortune. But I'll say this, any American doing that deserves to be ground into dust. The notion of people making dumb political points standing on the corpses of dead people is sick.

Way to go! In such times, it is not the polity but the people that get things done. We've seen that more than once here and elsewhere!

Honestly, if the people don't do it, no one will. And that even means government workers or professional disaster relief folks or whoever. You have to care about that work, and although any reasonable person reels at the horror at first, getting back up and getting at it is the only way to deal with such things. You all would know better than most!
