Immortality.
This world... this world has mastered the death of Death itself.
Dumbledore, here, now, I am immersed in something you've never even dared to envision.

I do believe I said I'd venture to investigate the Charm needed to get our radio devices performing on magic alone - much as quills, if you'd like. Now, what I've so far is only an oversimplified equation, barely a skeleton, but:
I'll say, the syntax's given me a world of trouble. For all they're barely four terms, it's - it's simply too much. I can't well tell whether to group "magic" and "man" for "wizard," or to give each factor its standing, because, mind, of course we want to establish a connection between the object and magic, but the contraption itself is used by wizards and, well, Muggles alike, so there's the very obvious muddle of whether "magic" becomes adjectival during the cast of a charm with my current equation... not to mention outlining the Charm itself. Bother, but there is a reason why magic and electricity don't much go hand in hand.

Well, then. Hullo, City - no, rather, good afternoon, citizens! So sorry, must remember it's all read by very many at once, not an... entity. That is, although this City seems prone to magic of its own, it's no entity, is it? No, say, governing mind, yes? The library and guides failed to specify, but I would imagine it'd be chief amongst their mentions: "City, That Which Thinks for All!"
Sounds extraordinary, doesn't it?
As for myself, thank you to all who were ever kind to welcome me. To everyone else, my name's Riddle - Tom Riddle, and I'm - well, by the look of it, I'm all of a minor and provided for here, but I was wondering whether one cared for a hired hand? I'll work for scraps, do be sure, it's only that I should want to further my studies in any way while here. I can... I'm reasonably capable with words and some manner of rhetoric and mathematics, and I've always held the sincerest admiration for research. I don't suppose there might be anyone looking for help?
Of course, I must confess there were a few moments of... undeniable discomfort - that is, brave new world, eh? Rather a bit to take in all at once, but we mustn't despair. They of my school's department pride in flexibility, so I'll simply have to endure and make the best of my circumstances. It could be... could be much worse, I gather.
I shouldn't want to impose on Mr. Sylar indefinitely, so do let me ask in full: is there an office of administration with whom new citizens ought to register? I expect I should put myself down on the records.
