They wouldn't make it that easy. The deities. Whenever you leave, it's because the City lets you. It's not any choice of your own.

Assumption. We don't know. We hardly know whether we're allowed to leave, or find our own ends, or whether it's simply not a matter of meeting a condition, or being rejected. Perhaps something changes - perhaps we change, and the City is no longer suited to us. Perhaps we pay a fee through words or actions, and we are delivered.

We don't know, nor do we ask, least of all study those who have come or who have left. I mean to change that.
