I hear you. We have gay marriage in MA and it hasn't exactly ruined society. During gay pride right after it was legalized there were these two little old ladies wearing "just married" tshirts - how can anyone find something wrong with that? Sigh...
Not that long ago many states outlawed interracial marriage too. I hope that some day (soon hopefully) we will look back on this as just another ugly civil rights issue that we fucked up. I just don't understand why anyone who believes in freedom thinks it should be selectively distributed.
Yeah. Here's to hoping anyway. What *I* hope is that, if nothing else, Obama's election ushers in a new era of tolerance and freedom for everyone, even if he completely fucks up everything else.
Mind you, I don't think he will -- he seems like a smart guy who is good at thinking on his feet -- but he's got a lot on his plate.

Honestly, a good portion of gay couples are just normal people want to settle down and build a life together.
There are just as many flagrantly oversexed straight people, and straight couples who don't take their "marriages" very seriously.
Giving people who really love each other some respect? Kind of a no-brainer, in my book.
I'm sick of the Christian Right thinking it runs the country.

Some things as acceptance will not be accepted... some things yet...

For such a usually "anything goes" state, that is bizarre.
