The Passion as pornography

This is a post of mine from IMDB. It covers a very disturbing realization I've had about The Passion of the Christ.

Let me premise this by saying that I saw the Passion about a week after it opened. It was one of the most visually striking films I've ever seen, as well as one of the most disturbing. The more I think on The Passion of the Christ,

I couldn't agree more.

(not that I've actually seen it, mind you, which I suppose sort of supersedes my right to comment).

But the focus on the gore nauseates me. For Christ's sake, people (literally), focus on the message -- not the slaughter of the messenger.
