once again I reiterate the awesomeness of http://www.twistedthrottle.com

Not only is their website setup awesome - the prices are pretty much the same as you'd get anywhere - cept the shipping is super lightning fast (read: 2 business days from the day you order, your stuff is at your house) - plus if you have any questions, concerns, any problem (1 screw out of 400 falls off cuz u didnt use locktight) or whatever, they have in the past sent me individual screws and bolts for parts that would otherwise be mucho expensive to find or replace for like $1 or $2.

AND I met the owner at the NY motorcycle convention and he not only owns a V-strom, but pretty much established his business selling aftermarket parts for V-stroms and then expanded - so you know he's awesome cuz he has the same bike as me :)

Hi

I am looking to sell a car - and I was thinking about going to Big Bucks Auto. I don't want the hassle of scheduling, test drives, hemming and hawing, etc. from prospective buyers.

You seem to have a very low opinion of Big Bucks Auto ... What happened?

I plan to see them in a little while - so if you are awake and otherwise not busy - a quick response would help a lot.

Basically, I called them on the phone. I told them the exact condition of my bike. I included all scratches, and exaggerated some details to make sure I would get a low ball figure. On the phone the guy tells me he thinks it would be worth between $750-$1250.
Okay, seems reasonable. I wouldn't get as much, but I'll save some time.
I take it there THE NEXT day. They tell me they don't really want to buy my bike because it's not in season. They would give me, at most, $500. I find out that the price range they gave me on the phone was actually something they were totally unwilling to pay.
I also heard many people in there saying "That's it, but you said..."

If it's not a hassle for you, go ahead out there and see what they will offer you. Just be prepared to feel like you've truly wasted your time!

I left before your response - but I had another appointment in the area, so it looks like I eneded up following your advice anyway ( ... )
