This tree is just growing wild on the side of the highway in a ditch and every time I passed it, I thought what a perfect tree! I am going to decorate it at Christmas time. And I DID! Looks pretty magic to me.

It's looking a little tattered now what with traffic whipping by at breakneck speed and the star I carefully made out of an aluminum pie plate has DISAPPEARED! I like to that a birdie liked the yarn that attached it to the tree top and CARRIED the star away.

I think that is what happened- that or this bird was flying along, and saw it and was like "sonofabitch, that's just the statement piece I need to set my sitting room off! Better Nests and Gardens, here I come!"

Not yet, my little bean. Although the DOG (yes THAT dog) did manage to snag one of the dried apple slices and had the string hanging out of his mouth.
