Stolen from quidditchkiss

Okay, I got a little ramlby in places here, so bear with me. Also, I would apologize for how much I talk about Sherlock Holmes, but I'm not ashamed! However, I do apologize for not italicizing titles. Too much HTML to deal with!

You're making me want to dig up my copy of the complete collection of Sherlock Holmes stories and read them all. If only I didn't have so many assignments to do for my classes already..

Man, trust me, I know how that goes. Reading for pleasure is so hard in college! But you should definitely start Sherlock Holmes when you have some time. The stories are most excellent.

P.S. I love your icon!!

Interesting... the last 50 pages or so of The Time Traveler's Wife were probably my favorite of the book. But as you mentioned, you're not a fan of darker stuff so I suppose it makes sense. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that you would also not like "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" if I recommended it. XD That was one of the most enjoyable books I've read in a long time and you know me, I'm not a reader AT ALL. Probably why I won't do this meme, I don't do enough reading to have enough answers! :)

Hahaha, you know they're making a movie based on Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. I might have to see that if it's not too gory. :)

I heard about the movie... I'm so excited!!! I'll probably watch it as soon as it comes out so I'll be sure to let you know how gory it is. The book got a bit gory at times but I will say that I thought the ending was pretty damn cool. It may be worth the bad parts for the ending.

I totally have the same bad book buying habit. I just love walking around bookstores and finding some new book I had never heard of before that seems interesting and buying it then and there before I can forget about it. And then I can always have the book and whenever I look at the book, I'll remember the day and place where I bought it. Kind of like a sovereign in addition to the reading joy. So, like, even though I was majorly disappointed in Washington Square and will probably never read it again, I'll still be happy to see it on my bookshelf because I'll think of my Boston trip where I purchased it. :)

Re: #20
I totally feel you. I read The Stupidest Angel by Christopher Moore in December. I loved the whole book right up until the last three pages. And that definitely effects how I remember the book now.

Dystopian futures is a great genre! Lots of wonderful books there. :)

I'm reading Stardust right now! Random, but hey. I haven't seen the movie yet but I'll probably watch it once I finish the book.

I'm the same way with where I buy books! I bought The Da Vinci Code in an airport in New Zealand and read it on the flight home. Didn't like the book, but it's like a souvenir now!

Enjoy Stardust! I actually saw the movie first, because I didn't know it was a book. But I loved the movie so much I went out and bought the book, plus another Neil Gaiman novel (Neverwhere - have you read it?)! I was totally hooked.

Thank you for pointing out the correct way to spell souvenir! I was so far off that spell check just substituted what it thought was right, and was actually a different word. :)

Thanks! This is my first Neil Gaiman novel. I read, and loved, Good Omens a few years ago. Last year I read Wyrd Sisters, a random book in Terry Pratchett's Discworld series. I wanted to read at least one novel of each Pratchett and Gaiman's after reading Good Omens to sort of see their influence in writing styles on the book. Because I'm a nerd like that. My friend Tim is completely obsessed with Neil Gaiman and is constantly telling me to read his novels and my friend Sara lent me Stardust so I started with this one. Neverwhere is still somewhere on my long, long mental list of Books To Read.

I’m going to end up on Hoarders one day with a house full of books.

Lolol, so much this! I'm seriously pondering buying myself an e-book reader for my birthday, because otherwise, the only way I'm going to have space to live in is if I build myself a house entirely out of books.

I shall almost certainly be snagging this meme!
