Please, let no one ever tell Jeff Buttle to stop drunk-tweeting.

Wow. Hi. It has been a while. Not only writing but reading: I've had to put work way ahead of fandom. I have a huge backlog of unread fanfic; I haven't looked at my friends list in over a month; I've accidentally quit doing handbasketnews. I'm working on Teen Wolf emo boyporn for gone_shaughraun but barely have time to look at it. For a while, I was too busy and stressed to ( Read more... )

I'm pretty much resigned to the idea of Anya unfairly winning PR over Viktor.

Agree with you on Modern Family. Will probably catch up with ANTM later this fall. I saw the first episode and was entertained.

I'm happy to say I was able to break up with GG (even though I have a huge crush on Leighton Meester and miss seeing her face once a week) and with Glee (seriously, it's not exactly a requirement for me to *like* tv characters - ahem, Weeds, Mad Men, - but I couldn't care less about any of those kids. Also Mr. Shuester is pretty awful.)

It's weird. The fanbase is unanimous that Viktor should be winning almost every challenge. I wonder if that says as much about the fanbase as it does about the designers, though: most of PR's viewers have a more high-fashion, experimental aesthetic, but more women are more likely to wear the kind of clothes that Anya designs. I've read gossip that wearability/sellability have become big factors in judging since the show moved to Lifetime, and that's why designers like Viktor and Mondo don't win.

In the end, my problem with Gossip Girl is that I do care about what happens to the characters, even when what happens to them is stupid.

Wow, you are back right on time :) Can't wait for your figure skating commentary once the season starts!

I started watching the Secret Circle as well. That show looks promising.

I planned this comeback! It coincides with work not being quite so stressful, but I really had planned to get back into LJ around Grand Prix time.

The Secret Circle is awful, but it's the right kind of awful, you know?

I only just started watching, but so far Gale Harold is not making out with any cute blond twinks, which is disappointing :D

We’re 99% convinced that Flomo’s program and costume is a message from Morozov to Daisuke - we’re just not sure what it says. Possibly, “See? My new bf can do a sexy mambo program too. I don’t need you at all!” (*pout*). As if in answer, Daisuke has gone all moody and sexy in black (although, expect this to change several times throughout the season).

New season, new costumes. Glorious! (and hopefully new jumps! Crossing my fingers for Czisny’s 3l-3t).

I think Florent is sending a message to Stephane Lambiel: "Sorry about breaking into your apartment, raiding your closet, and using all your hair product."

After watching Dai-chan, I just assumed he was saving his real costumes for the real competitions.

Seeing Mirai, Alissa, and Kanako in the pre-season reinforced for me that following ladies' singles is bad for my cardiovascular health.

Hello!

Oh god, Janeway. She was fab. Although it was a flawed show in lots of ways, it was brilliant to have a female captain and a female engineer too. And then with Seven, another major protagonist who is female. Where else would you really get that? \o/

Other versions of Star Trek are my favourites but I loved Janeway the most as captain. The end of Year of Hell? OMFG.

The Mentalist. Yes, I think this show is good, and by that I mean: it constructs its mysteries cleverly and mindfully, it gives its actors a lot to do, it's self-aware, and last week it gave me Tim Kang in a tight t-shirt.

LOL! Yep, that's why I like it too.

Body of Proof. As a procedural, it's competent. As a show with women on my television, it's spectacular.

I have seen two episodes of this and liked them. It's lovely to have a female lead, particularly one who really DGAF, and Jeri Ryan doesn't hurt either.
