I want to congratulate you for the nomination, but I haven't read it...something in the pairing or presentation scared me away, but probably after all the Seasonal S. and the subsequent catching up with the rest, I'll try it!

You're very welcome - the main pairing is Xander/Faith but the second, "supporting" pairing Spike/Buffy.I wanted to play with role reversal between Buffy and Xander, ships-wise. In canon Buffy's the protagonist, so her affair with Spike is angsty while Xander's relationship with Anya is mostly played for laughs (although she like Spike is responsible for mamy killings). In my story Xander is the protagonist so his affair with Faith is angsty and torturous and full of hard choices, while Buffy, as a supporting player, has a funny and snarky affair with a demon Spike who regularly embarasses her with quips about sex (not unlike Anya does to Xander in canon).

You know, just a few days ago a fan on Buffyforums asked to rec him some quality s8 fics. He complained that he can't find anything interesting about Xander during his season 8 arc. So I think there definitely is interest in season 8 fanfiction.

I recced him A Girl With a Purpose - hopefully he'll enjoy the story.

The list of nominees in "best gen" category is very strong (as well as fiction in other categories) so I don't think I can win.
