Well, let me just say, Ranger School sucks. While difficult, it's not THAT hard, it's just stupid. The challenging part is putting up with all the bullshit they put us through. Over the course of about 30 days I lost between 15-20 pounds. Let me tell you my grocery bill reflects the fact I've been trying to put that weight back on. ( Read more... )

I graduated the Infantry Officer Basic Course 2 weeks ago. That was a long painful time. 13 weeks that were by no stretch of the imagination hard, they were just long and tedious... and very boring. Well, as the title claims, I just had a long weekend and I survived it. EVERYONE I know left Columbus this weekend. This is almost no exhageration, my entire platoon left except for one person I'm aware of, and he brought his g/f in, so he was busy. Last week was our first week in the field during the infantry officers basic course. It sucked. We were at different ranges all week. Pretty much we would go to a range at an ungodly hour, shoot about 40-60 rounds which took about 20 minutes.
