Opera -- chief problem

So I read this, which is interesting if pie-in-the-sky (the first step to writing a new rendering engine is more or less implementing Graham's 100 year language now). The Nokia 770 comes with Opera. Other than that I'd never use it. Firefox is good enough, and when it isn't, Konqueror is.

Last I checked, which was, admittedly, several years ago, I dropped Opera and went back to Explorer.
It's a wonderful browser, but it is (or was, anyway) far too resource intensive.

I have no idea if this is still the case, but when I last used it, opening 10 tabs at the same time would kill my computer, while 10 explorer windows wouldn't.
