I'm eligible for a $100 credit towards a new phone in January. My contract with Verizon ends in May. So I'm doing a little preliminary research.

From the BlackBerries, I'd say get a higher end one. The 83xx series are on their way out the door with the 85xx replacing them as budget phones. Also, my BB 8900 kicks the shit out of those dated phones. Also, the Storm2 should be out by then as well (if you want a quality BB touch screen) - also... Posting this from my BB :P

I was considering a Tour or an 8900 which seems like a incremental upgrade to the 8330 that I've got. The 8900 looks basically like a Bold in Curve clothing. Carley has the Bold and it seems alright, but it doesn't do much that my Curve doesn't. Maybe I should look closer?

I'd also put the G1/mytouch on the list. Android is doing some really interesting things lately, and it's worth checking out.

Maybe with the next gen of Android (2 vs 1.5). Their current seem fairly dated.

Android2 = MyTouch3G
My boss has one and is very happy with it.

The G1 was dated when it came out.
