I agree and I disagree. The scene has become too safe, but it's never too late to change that. Look at what was happening in DC during the late 80s to mid 90s with the hammer skins. They were everywhere, and one man literally put a stop to that. It's never too late to make people afraid of hardcore again.

but i don't think people should be "afraid" of hardcore. i think, somehow, there needs to be a sense of respect instilled in the younger kids. i think some of the kids have that, and if hardcore was truly something "scary", we'd probably end up missing out on some great bands, great kids, great labels, etc.

and the comparison to the hammer skins is a pretty good one, that was a much smaller group than what i've called the "girl-pants brigade", and definitely not widely accepted the way these kids are. i mean christ, you've got huuuuuuuuge clothing companies like Hollister basically catering to exactly what these kids want.

whatever, their hardcore is bullshit. it's nothing to me, they can have it.
