Computer help!

So I think I caught a virus, or some sort of malware. What is does is it redirects me to advertisement pages like mevio when I use google and click links. It uh very frustrating, I won't lie, but I don't know how to get rid of it. Would anyone know anything about getting it out of a system?

Download these free anti-virus:
http://www.avast.com/index
http://personalfirewall.comodo.com/

and run a scan.

I suggest downloading them first on your desktop, then when they're done restart your computer on safe-mode (press F8 button) and select Safe-Mode without networking.

Once you're on safe mode, set-up the programs and run them. It should take care of it. Then when its done, restart normally, and the programs should be taking care of the virus.
