8. [I turned on the light, and. . .]

eclecticmuses :: I turned on the light, and. . .I turned on the light, and I had absolutely every intention of cleaning the flat. I’d just gotten home from work, and Crookshanks was meowing his welcome and request for food. Oh, the joys of domesticity. It’s not so much that it was dreadfully messy, but their were dishes to be washed, clothes to be put away, ( Read more... )

Right. So it had been a while since I'd seen Hermione. It wasn't as if I'd be avoiding her or anything or her avoiding me. She had work and I had.. things. Burrow things. Like thinking up ways to get out of helping Mum around the house with chores. Merlin, I really did need to get a place of my own ( ... )

"Honestly, Ronald, I was starting to wonder if you'd forgotten where I live." I sort of rolled my eyes at him, but really, he's Ronald, and he tends to busy with Burrow things, or moreover with avoiding Burrow things. His mum isn't that bad, unless of course you happen to be up to something.

"Sorry it took me a bit to answer. I was reading and kind of zoned out. It's a good book though - well, as good as fiction can be really, but Mum picked it up in Australia. Funny thing is that once she was herself again, she wasn't much interested in it." I babbled a bit, not that Ronald cared about books or reading or reading books, but I'm always optimistic that one day I'll convert him. Still, I tugged him inside because if he was actually here, then he was certainly staying for awhile. "So, what have you been up to? Helping George at the shop?"

"I hadn't forgotten..," I said quietly just as I was pulled into the room after she'd gone on about the book she'd been reading instead of answering the door. I smiled crookedly at her once the door was shut and shrugged a little.

"Yeah, a little. They've got some wicked new products that they can't make enough of they're selling so fast." I smiled wide at just the thought all that they'd been stocking their shelves with lately. Or, that I'd been stocking since they liked to use me as their personal stock boy. Gits.

"You've been working then? How's it been going?"

"Oh, that's fantastic then. I wouldn't mind popping by to help sometime, if they need it." Because, let's be honest, I have no reason to be a hermit, throwing myself into work and books all the time. I have a boyfriend who I haven't seen in... okay, there's my point.

I smiled though, because it was nice to have Ron here. The flat would be big enough for both of us, but I didn't want to mention it yet... Considering it took us how many years to figure out our feelings? I didn't want to suddenly spring the idea of him moving in with me. He might panic. Poor Won-Won.

"Work has been busy! I see your dad though even now and then at the office. I'm mostly doing paperwork and research. It's like a grown-up version of Hogwarts, sometimes," I explained. I really ought to visit the Burrow. It's been ages since I've had Ronald's Mum's cooking. "So, how are things at home?" And, I was optimistic that he'd say crowded or something along the lines of oh, I rather fancy your flat, Mione; think I could stay here too? but these things take time ( ... )
