[Public | Audio]The faceless things can now be considered hostile. They are striking out at people, but are otherwise intangible except when they strike. I would advise you to not aim weaponry at them or throw spells at random, because I don't put it past them to try and direct your fire at someone innocent. I still agree with Parker that we ( Read more... )

[Una's voice is about half an octave too high, the sound of someone trying very hard to remain calm and only mostly succeeding.]

May I request-or, that is, suggest, that the seventh floor common room be avoided?

[Because she just went in there, having heard something, and got treated to a replay of one of mirror!Sexby's greatest hits. Others are welcome to have seen her back out of there, white as a sheet, and sit very quietly next to the wall for a little while.]

[That tone concerns him.] Is that where you are at the moment?

No. I mean, not really; I'm just outside. I'll be heading back to my room in a minute.

Alright.

Let me know if you need anyone along.

Or someone to talk to later.

[Hoffman is calm. Too much stress or just finally tired of being a victim, he's seen himself die, twice since waking up this morning.]

...Are there things being done about this?

[Because Hoffman has had a bad month, Kay refrains from his most possible smart ass response.]

Yep. Workin' on it. [Has to figure out how to find his way to the bridge first.]

Is there a certain frequency to it?

[He might sound a little blank. It's his best police-voice. The same voice you use when you're emotionally detached.]

Do they happen at particular intervals or have they been known to pause?

They happen at random. They don't pause. The perpetrator seems to know precisely when someone's going to be watching and where. He is observing all his victims. He also has access to the entirety of the network.

Maybe we should all be bargeists until this is over.

How long does it take for inmate ability requests to go through, usually?

Not that it matters much, anyway.

Right off, usually. Which it wouldn't surprise me if whoever's at the wheel is ignoring them.

[Narvin is sticking close to Kay and trying not to shoot at the incorporeals. He logically knows that it wouldn't do any good, but he's tired of not fighting back. He wonders if next time they touch him to pinch or scratch he should try a psychic attack.]

They must have minds, even if it's a hive mind being controlled by an external force. [He says suddenly, starting the conversation at the end of his train of thought.]

[He puts down his communicator.] Not much of one. Enough to act independently.

Fuck. Kirk knows how to get onto that goddamn bridge but he's not gonna tell anybody. Not that I blame him entirely, but if he's not fuckin' gonna go somebody has to.

Kirk still knows how? The method he used wasn't blocked off? [This is Narvin's scheming voice. He's considering finding a way to quietly and harmlessly remove the knowledge from Kirk's brain.]

He doesn't necessarily need to tell anyone for the information to slip out...

Last ditch resort, Narvin. [The look on Kay's face, not a friendly one. He's a little sad he had to hold back on his other idea, and this is just more proof it was probably a good idea to.

He sighs heavily.] I need to talk to him. I'll be back soon. [And he starts for the door.]
