oh, this is gonna sound lame in English. But basically she's writing out the word "period" instead of typing the puctuation period. But it's cool 'cause you can read some lines like either "the world is empty (period)" or, "the world is an empty period" (because in Chinese the period looks like a four-beat music note!)
