i! hate! everything about you!

Curufin is not happy. In fact, one might go so far as to say that Curufin is very, very angry. He doesn't show it, of course, other than perhaps a certain preoccupation with his one remaining blade - the unfavored bow is stored in his room, safely (he hopes, ohh if she dares, if she dares set foot in his territory or near him again she will pay for ( Read more... )

Faramir barely notices the other's presence at first, a sign that he is becoming far too accustomed to the presence of elves in general. He continues along with his walking and reading, a bad and potentially dangerous habit, though one that is hard to break. The sound of a knife being sharpened manages to break through the spell woven by his First Age poems however, and he glances at both the weapon and the elf a bit curiously for a moment.

Probably a bad habit! We recommend that Faramir pay a bit more attention, because at least a few of them are still dangerous. Not all of them, but a good few. Especially where it concerns their pride. On the other hand, this is Curufin and it's not certain what is a good idea around him.

Said elf is watching Faramir, and has been since he came into his field of vision, from under lowered brows, eyes steel grey as always and something of suspicion in his bearing. Of course, difficult to say if it is just the usual wariness of any man or elf accustomed to war toward an apparent stranger.

There is something, though, something half, vaguely reminiscent of Beren and his damned quest. Just for a moment, hatred flickers in his eyes, before he masks it and sheaths the knife, standing. "Good day."

"Good day, my lord," Faramir replies in passable (if Gondorian accented) Quenya, bowing politely and closing his book after memorizing what page he was on. The wariness of the elf is duly noted, but he is willing to blame it on constantly being at war, after all, it is an expression he too often shares. "Are you newly come to this place?"

It is passable, though, and understandable, which is good enough. His smile is as cool and slightly distant as ever, as though he can't quite care enough to focus completely on whoever he's talking to. Though it might be better that way. "Not so much anymore," he says, "But as things go, still very much ...unused...to the change." It does not help that everyone he knows, especially his siblings, seem to have lost their minds.

We're going to apologize for this in advance. Here is a young lady who is ridiculously puny compared to any elf, and who is walking in from the woods with a generous pick up of hares at her belt.

Even if there is a plothole, Anita has taken the habit of setting snares and is having a hard time giving up the hunting habit.

She'll give Curufin a wary glance as she makes her way up the steps.

He stands as she passes, eyes following her all the way from the forest. Before she enters the Mansion, he flicks his eyes to the rabbits, seeming almost amused. "You caught those?"

His tone is almost excessively surprised. You, female? You, human? Who knows. Curufin has a few prejudices, what?

She looks him up and down, as if to say, yeah, and?

"No, I bought them at the supermarket over there," she replies, pointing at the forest.

Anita, of course, doesn't look very impressed, but unless you're Lucivar, it's hardly surprising.

His eyebrows arch, slightly, but he's still more amused than annoyed, as of yet. He doesn't recognize the word, but he gets the gist of it, and so far his expression is still mostly pleasant - as much as it ever is, anyway. "How...surprising," with a tone that manages to communicate rather that of someone who has just seen a child perform some not too impressive trick.

Invisibility is Caranthir's new superpower! After having used it on Celegorm, he's now testing it on Curufin!

So... brother. Pretending not to be there, and lurking in the trees. He's about to go around the house and make a long detour to avoid another tiresome confrontation.

He sees you, Caranthir! He sees you. And tiresome confrontations are his specialty. Though he's totally planning on the 'reasonable' approach this time.

And stands, sheathing the knife smoothly. "Carnistir. Are you entertaining yourself by lurking there or are you waiting for someone?" He still sounds fairly normal, for the moment at least. Slightly mocking, very dry, almost bored.

Oh drat. There's a small oath that escapes his lips before he can contain it.

"Maybe I am. What's it to you?" His tone is deceptively mild, and don't be mistaken, Curufin, he's still pissed off at you.

"Call it curiosity. I like to know what my little brothers are up to." Oh, he's very much aware, and very much wary, but it doesn't show that much. He's putting on a good face. After all, he needs to make an attempt at diplomacy. "I hadn't heard about any illicit love affairs, but I suppose if they were illicit they wouldn't likely spread further than you wanted them to."

Here is the Merlin, smoking his pipe as usual, observing the seething elf from a distance.

It's not fear. It's curiosity.

Curufin does not particularly like to be watched. He lifts his head, sending the trademark piercing gaze Merlin's way and still holding his knife. "Looking for something, old man? Many consider it rude to stare." Friendly, this one is not.

But of course, he's never known when he's been bested.

"The opinion of the masses is usually fairly overrated," Merlin replies, dispassionately. "As for rudeness, you've plenty to share yourself, Eldarin lord."

He takes a long, slow, lazy tug of his pipe, sedate as he ever was.

Oh you did not. He glares. Ferociously. I am entitled to rudeness because I'm better than you? We realize that this logic is flawed, but Curufin doesn't. "We" meaning the management. "I think not, in this case. Is there something? Elsewise I would recommend you find elsewhere to look; I do not take kindly to such observation." He ignores the rudeness comment, at least in voice. Though he's a little taken aback. People here are so lacking in proper respect!
