Celebrimbor isn't really expecting to meet anyone in the woods, in fact that was part of the point. He likes the quiet of the snowy woods and since he doesn't have a particular project at the moment and his fiancee is sleeping for the day he's indulging himself.
The last thing he expected when he walked out into the woods today was to run into his father. It's been some time since they've spoken, and Cele hesitates before continuing on, They've managed to have one conversation in the past that didn't devolve into a horrible argument, right? And maybe they'll just sort of pass each other without actually talking.
Because that's likely to ever happen at any point, yep.
The last thing Curufin was looking for was his son, so they're about even, right? Right. Curufin doesn't pause visibly, noting the hesitation in Cele's step and then the continued motion. His lips press together for a moment, and then his expression smooths to perfectly neutral.
His nod of acknowledgement is just what he would give to a fellow elven stranger. No more, no less.
