Is the main campus in the middle of PA? If that's the case, then that explains a lot.
I think that you are a good conversationalist. It seems that other people are the problem and very rarely are we encouraged, in this society, to be gregarious, open, and welcoming unless doing so has a pragmatic value. Something just occurred to me: notice how many friendships are formed around a particular set of interests- whether it be politics, music, hobby, etc.- and the rest have the practical value in which the other person is of some benefit to the other by material means. I wonder if it is ever possible to befriend someone because you are genuinely like them as a whole person. The holistic approach to things always gets shit on.
