Wow, this was definitely one of the most moving and paralyzing movies I've ever seen. It goes without saying that Heath Ledger was fucking phenomenal, terrifying, hilarious, almost perfect as the Joker, and when I saw the camera fade on his face I couldn't help but tear up. His final complete performance. Incredible. Just chuck an Oscar in the sky right now. Maggie Gyllenhal(l?) was great even though the boys I was with thought she looked too tired. Well in real life she had given birth THREE MONTHS before she started filming!!!!! So basically I would have sex with every man in this movie, including Oldman, Caine, and Freeman. Christian Bale's raspy Batman voice was almost funny sometimes but otherwise he was a complicated pimp. But I fell head over heels for Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent/TwoFace. And the effects/makeup in this movie were also amazing--the CGI was kept to a minimum which, like Hellboy, brings all the story's elements more credence and believability. His burny face was really scary, as was Ledger's face the whole time, INCLUDING one freaky time where he's disguised and he's not wearing the makeup! And Rachel died! That whole scene with her and Harvey tied to the oil was brilliant. Several times the entire movie theater burst with gleeful, shocked, and/or breathless applause, as if the movie could hear us. The applause at the end was ecstatic. It was an experience definitely to be had on the big screen, and I think I may see this one more than once just to breathe Gotham City in again. To bring Heath back to life. To see Eckhart's crazy angular jaw pointing right at me. It was a fantastic night.
You are retarded if you don't go see this movie.
