Christmas Icons - for 2nd December LOTR Advent Calendar 2015

16 icons - well, 17 if you include the one I've used - for you. I chose an early date so that you could use them for Christmas, but there are some that are appropriate any time of year. I deliberately left all but one without text. Feel free to add your own captions - or ask me. Enjoy - grab some or all, and credit, please! Comments=love.

Thank you for the lovely icons for Christmas - they are wonderful! I love the Legolas in a snow globe one!

Regarding your thoughts about having to post in your own journal instead of somewhere else, we didn't post in our journals during the first year of calendar (hard to believe it was five years ago!) but posting in the comm wasn't popular with the majority of people who were more comfortable posting in their own journals.

Since we changed to using own LJs, the option of posting in lotr_advent2 as an alternative location has been available on request, and I've made that available to you now if you would prefer to move your post there. Please feel free to post in whichever location you feel works best for you.

If you do move the post, just let me know so that I can move the link in the calendar to point to the new location.

It's OK! I want my other friends to see what I've done, after all. It's just I have at least 4 people on my f'list who will see this and I hope take note of what I've said!! And I'll edit to remove that paragraph in the morning! They (the 4) are all in my timezone or behind me. It's lovely for e.g. New Zealanders not to have to wait!!

By the way, I think the icons look great as they are, but just for info I create the calendar using an html table - I'd be happy to send you the details but it's tricky to type it in a comment because LJ reads it as a 'table' and hides the formatting. I'll send you a message because that isn't formatted - at least I don't think it is!

Thank you so much! I think I'll leave them as they are for this time but I have some more icon ideas so it would be good for another round. I made some that look better as banners because they lose too much detail as icons, so I will have to find somewhere to post those, too - probably just my own journal again.

I couldn't find anything. I wasn't sure because I let LJ Scrapbook host them then post to DW and cross post. By the time I'd finished I was worried about making mistakes, as you can imagine!! I must experiment with that idea in a 'private' post - it would be good to know!

Lovely idea in general, but I still like your own icon the most. ;) And Bilbo looks great, and the snowy Legolas. Also, yay for the Gollum poster. *g*

It's possible to put them side by side - just tag after tag, with a space, but without enters; say, four or five in a row, then enter and next five - but it wouldn't be possible to align them precisely with the captions below each one, especially if you'd like it looking the same no matter the browser.

I will experiment in a 'private' post. Not for these, in case anything goes wrong, but for next time!

I had Gimli and I tried to make a 'warriors' banner - it was good but it lost too much downsized to an icon. I'll maybe do a post with banners some time.
