It's been hanging around on my laptop for a while - I never thought there would be the appropriate time to post it.

It has been a baaaad year for pain. But I do try to console myself that he DID have someone to love him... I thought he'd been alone and lonely. So may wonderful people die like that... Benny Hill, Tony Hancock...

Lovely story, full of atmosphere and feelings... can almost taste them!

Oh - GO AWAY 2016 - for all those out there... I may have suffered (physical pain) but my 2016 worked out just wonderfully.... really. It was worth the suffering.
Except.... I must think positively about the oldies who died, because once they WERE young and beautiful, and we are lucky in that we have their films, their voices and .... our memories of them.

I was less distressed about Richard Adams and Liz Smith - sad, but not shocked. It's all the young ones dying that have been such a source of pain. Colin says he thinks it's probably due to their very stressful lifestyles as stars with both work pressure and hard 'partying'. BBC says 2016 has been average in terms of prepared obituaries, but of course that doesn't take into account the age at death or the expectations - if someone has been ill for a long time there is less horror at the end.

George Michael did seem to have wonderful friends and lovers. And seems to have been a lovely person, too.
