I am just about to embark on the weighty third part of Memory, Sorrow and Thorn. Loving the story but I do hope this third instalment isn't so full of typo- and layout errors as the first two.

Does anyone here have an English language print edition of Tad Williams' "Stone of Farewell"? Even better if you do and you're able to scan or photograph a couple of pages? I have a major printing error in my copy and would like to see what the correct version should be. Thanks!

Oh the joy of spending hours hunting down file system reparse points because the system's own backup imaging software wasn't made to cope with them. *facepalm* Thanks, Microsoft.

This morning I read a rather sobering article about the likely catastrophe that will result when the next full-margin rupture occurs along the Cascadia Subduction Zone in the Pacific North-West of North America. Now I've just seen a news story here about activity under Mount St Helens again, which is associated with that fault.

Probably nothing.

Assuming I'm still connected to people here, I know some of you do the amateur radio thing too :) I have been experimenting a little with SSTV and actually had some success with images from the ISS...
