You did him - and yourself! - a great service by letting him go, you know. If you'd stayed together, the restlessness that you were very much feeling once you'd been engaged for a while would have eventually taken over and ended things between the two of you in a far more unpleasant way.
It is really hard to recognise so soon after a breakup (I've recently been through a somewhat similar situation myself!), but I suspect that your history of strong friendship with Mikhail - even underneath romantic complications - will re-emerge once you've given each other some space. I'd back off for now and give it a bit of time; of course it's going to be difficult, but once it's been long enough, I think you'll be able to reconcile quite naturally as friends. I'd say inthelemonlight summed it up quite nicely. I think it's perfectly natural to be friends with someone you dated for five years, especially because of how long you were major parts of eachother's lives. It always takes time to make the transition smoothly, though.
And! I've got so many hugs for you it's not even funny.
blahhh i keep trying to think of encouraging things to write but i suck. :/ i hope things start looking up soon...maybe life would be better if you came and lived on our ugly grandma couch? *hugs* p.s. sometimes a good sobfest helps <3
you don't suck <3 I can't wait till i go home and can spend time with you! at the top of my list atm :)
khail and i talked things over so we're cool now. it was rough but i think after we talked things over it def helped me gain a little more focus in other parts of my life.

why must you tease! when when WHEN! ;)
glad things are smoothed over a bit. it'll take work on both ends and i'm sure it's a little awkward right now but i know you two will remain good friends. tbh, he never supported our love anyway...
