Fat Chance

So tomorrow I'm going to try something drastic.  I'm going to fast for 3 days.  Total fast.  From midnight tonight through midnight Sunday, no calories whatsoever.

After that, I plan to do keto.

I set up with doing a round of CCWS, and I've been doing baking soda water every morning, so I hope I'm prepared for this.

diet, nutrition, keto, sugar, ccws

Sounds pretty awesome, and also difficult. The three days of a water fast, I hear, are the hardest part. If you feel okay on day three, you can always keep going. I've watched a lot of videos of people talking about doing water fasting (which is how I worked myself up into trying it at all). Most agree that if you can make it through three days, you can go longer. I never made it past two days of straight water, mostly due to extreme nausea and emotional reactions.

Yeah, the nausea got me. I was all set to face the wanting-to-eat-just-because-it-tastes-good, but I just couldn't drink enough water. I'm still a little dehydrated.

I had to build up to drinking more water. I started back in 2010 by adding lemon to water, and it took me all day sipping to drink about 16 ounces. After doing that consistently for months, I was able to get up to 32 ounces (a quart). Now I rarely drink less than a quart in a day just because my body knows to ask for water by making me feel thirsty. My mouth actually just goes dry a lot in response to knowing it'll get more water. For water-fasting I would imagine you want to get at least a half gallon of water a day, if not a whole gallon.
