Crash space in NYC?

I'm hoping to go to NYC next weekend (16th through the 19th). Was hoping to stay with filmislife but he may be in Vegas that weekend. Alternately was going to stay with madmazula but he's got a ton of people coming over that weekend and there is limited crash space. Why next weekend? Because of MLK day. do you use one of those stretchy knee-support sleevey guys? Roller derby + biking messes up my knees a bit and I've been actually way impressed with how well the stretchy guys work.
